I don’t know what everyone is so upset about. The eye candy made it, the non eye candy dropped out. But I guess everyone doesn’t look at it that way. ---

Besides, I think any Final 3 that includes Eric the Pierced is categorically precluded from consisting of “eye candy”, no matter the sexual orientation of the beholder in question… ---

Heavy sigh. Now I’m considering heading off to the spoiler sites. I’ve been avoiding them all season, other than to hear that it was pretty well leaked as to the finishing order. If it’s Eric and Danielle tipped to win, I may not even watch. ---

Was anyone else yelling at Oswaldo to stop looking at his frickin’ GPS for one second and actually start looking for the downed airman who was resting approximately 15 feet away? I thought so. ---

\ HA… something 😕 \ Once again, Danny and Oswald got lost. Had they arrived at the navy base in good time, they might have won the leg. With the NEL penalty hanging over their heads, any other placement probably would have killed them. Therefore, this leg was won and lost on good clean racing, and the mistakes that come with it. I’m firmly rooting for the Beauty Queens. MADs: Anybody want to host a TAR finale party? I’d offer, but I get piss-poor TV reception. ---

We are in mourning. Out in fourth place, TWICE? That is just cruel! Especially since one of our favorite memories is Oswald “teaching” **Whiterabbit** [how to Lambada](http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m5/MamaTiger4747/Lambada-ing.jpg) at TARcon a few seasons ago. I ADORE Oswald and Danny! Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn! Pass the scissors, please! (But Phil looked mighty fine, didn’t he?) We ended up pausing the TiVo about every 30 seconds all the way through – Papa Tiger lived on Guam, and could identify every inch of the place. So he would pause and point out all the various places he did this or that or the other thing. The one place they didn’t show that I was hoping they would was the intersection where he rear-ended the cop. 😃 But it makes me want to go live on Guam even more now! Wow, that place is lovely. ---

Oh, and can I just note that going to a place that’s largely American-military-family populated and saying that you have to get to the military base because of a life-and-death situation so you can gain an advantage in a freakin’ reality series shows what I would consider to be very poor judgment? ---

I know a lot of people don’t like them, but they’re good Racers, they get along and don’t snipe at each other, and always seem to be genuinely enjoying themselves. I didn’t realize how many people loved Danny and Oswald. Other than being a gay couple, what is particularly notable about them? Their relationship isn’t any different than plenty of other couples that have been on the race, and they aren’t very good racers, which is, after all, the point of the whole thing. I find all three remaining teams more interesting than them. ---

[/QUOTE] They’re the epitome of grace under pressure, they’re kind to pretty much everyone they encounter on the race (well, Oswald more than Danny, but they’re still both several dozen steps above Mirna), they just have FUN, and they faaaaaaaaabulous! What more do you need? ---

I would dispute the notion that Oswald and Danny aren’t good Racers. They finished 4th in their first Race and (Charla and Mirna notwithstanding) teams don’t generally make it that far without some skills. Their last Race included three winning legs. On this Race they again finished 4th which, again, not an insignificant achievement, and again won three legs and also had four 2nd-place finishes. They had one Very Bad Leg, the leg before this one, and were unable to recover from it. They as a team made two serious mistakes: not ditching that horrible cab driver in Macao; and not taking the CARE package Detour option this time. Given a choice between something you can do yourself (load a box) and something that’s dependent on the whim of another (cleaning) take the thing you can do yourself. I don’t know if that would have allowed them to beat Schmirna by a half-hour or not but it was still the better choice. Speaking of which, I wonder if multiple people had taken CARE Package if they would have sent up multiple ginormous planes, one per team? But, I have to say, the revelation that they’re rooting for Schmirna _and_ that they think Schmirna are so wonderful does lead me to second-guess their taste. ---
