Well, this was an easy one to tabulate. Since the lowest anyone predicted Chris Sligh would finish was seventh, everyone gets to be a loser this week! The Standings: 1st Place: **micahjn** , **Nutty Bunny** and **Omega Glory** with three points each 2nd Place: **Reloy3** and **Tangent** with one point each 3rd Place: You, me, and everyone else not mentioned above without a damn point between us. ---

Latest Standings: 1st Place: **Omega Glory** stands alone atop the heap with a big, fat four points 2nd Place: **micahjn** and **Nutty Bunny** with three points each 3rd Place: **Reloy3** , **Tangent** and **vivalostwages** with one point each And, of course, we have our 13-way tie for last place – everyone else with zip, nada, zilch, zero points. ---

Just need to put in a note for this week’s update. Because of last week’s non-elimination, we’re going to have to make an update to this week’s rules. Here’s how we’ll work it: _Hopefully_, when they eliminate the bottom two tomorrow night, they will come right out and say “[Contestant A] is the lowest vote-getter, and [Contestant B] is the second-lowest vote-getter”. If that is the case, then “Contestant A” will be regarded as the Week 6 elimination and “Contestant B” will be regarded as the Week 5 elimination. We’ll be able to play this as if there was nothing out of the ordinary last week. ## However, if they don’t discern between the two (and knowing this show, that is a distinct possibility), then we’ll have to go into fallback mode. Here’s how we’ll do it: Picking either one of the eliminated contestants in either the #6 or #5 slot will net you _two_ points. Since we can’t say if you were right on or one week off, we’ll split the difference between the three points and one point. ## If you picked either one of the eliminated contestants in either the #7 or #4 slot, that will net you one point this week. Ok, since they didn’t announce who finished 6th and who finished 5th, we’re going to have to go with the backup plan. And because of that, we had a _whole_ lot of people get on the scoreboard this week: Picking up two points were **Sam Stone** , **koeeoaddi** , **vivalostwages** , **Diogenes the Cynic** , **DanBlather** , **Queen Tonya** , **Millit the Frail** and **The SDMB Average Grouping**. Picking up one point were **Hal Briston** , **Liberal** , **Omega Glory** and **rockle**. That means our leaderboard now shakes out as follows: 5 points: **Omega Glory** 4 points: **micahjn** and **Tangent** 3 points: **vivalostwages** , **Nutty Bunny** and **DanBlather** 2 points: **Reloy3** , **Sam Stone** , **koeeoaddi** , **Diogenes the Cynic** , **Queen Tonya** , **Millit the Frail** and **The SDMB Average Grouping** 1 point: **Hal Briston** , **Liberal** , and **rockle** It’s going to be tricky to catch up to **Omega Glory** , who has three of the four Top Four still in play. Of course, there are a lot of players who can make a similar claim, so we’ll see how it shakes out. (Bit of triva: With only two exceptions, everyone picked at least one Chris to make the Top Four) ---

I’ve got two points, whee!!! 😃 Wow, looking at my list now, I’m only surprised at how low I had Jordin, even though everyone else seemed equally fooled by the Chris factor and had one or both of them higher. And I still miss Gina, sigh. ---

Ok all, here’s the latest: Hitting the 4th place elimination dead-on and grabbing up two points were **koeeoaddi** , **Diogenes the Cynic** and **Nutty Bunny**. Getting the “off by one week” one point were **Hal Briston** , **Sam Stone** , **vivalostwages** , **Reloy3** , **yellowval** , **micahjn** , **xnylder** , **Pleonast** , **Omega Glory** and **Tangent**. That leaves our leaderboard looking like this: 6 points: **Omega Glory** 5 points: **micahjn** , **Nutty Bunny** and **Tangent** 4 points: **vivalostwages** , **koeeoaddi** and **Diogenes the Cynic** 3 points: **Sam Stone** , **Reloy3** and **DanBlather** 2 points: **Hal Briston** , **Queen Tonya** , **Millit the Frail** and **The SDMB Average Grouping** 1 point: **Pleonast** , **Liberal** , **yellowval** , **xnylder** and **rockle** It’s going to be an interesting one these next two weeks. Both **koeeoaddi** and **Diogenes** have a chance at picking up turkey bonus points next week. In addition, there are the big bonus points for picking the overall winner. Of course, since nearly everyone picked Melinda to win, those may well pretty much cancel out almost across the board. In fact, the player poised to make the biggest leap is **Tangent**. He’s the only player left who correctly picked the Top Three, and if they go out in the order he predicted, then he’ll win this by a thoroughly disgusting margin (it doesn’t help matters that I’m actively rooting for his prediction to come true). Also, **Tangent** and **DanBlather** are the only players left who can possibly get any points out of Jordin, since most of the rest of us seem to have decided that she was a pleasant, but unremarkable singer. Ahh, we were so young and foolish then. ---

If I had to make a prediction right now, I’d say Blake is out next with Melinda finishing in second place and Jordin winning it all. Damn it! I may have to actually start phoning in some votes. ---

[/QUOTE] I tried voting for Jordin this week (since I’m over Blake) and on both of her numbers, all I got for 45 minutes was “All circuits are busy”. I tried one of Blake’s numbers and got that, too. Since Ryan said there were 45 million votes and they were spread among 8 numbers, I’m not surprised. ---
