Personally, I’m hoping that Windows and Xbox both go away and get replaced with by various Linuxes: SteamOS, Android, ChromeOS, the consumer distros, etc. Those are made by companies and people who actually give a damn.
Windows is just the lowest common denominator at this point and its main function is preventing the rise of something better. IMHO the world would be better off without it.
I pray Microsoft exits the consumer space altogether and just pivots fully into the online services sector they’re already so deep in.
Sorry for sounding bitter. I’m just sick of watching them enshittify more and more every decade.
