Anything with coconut or licorice. Blech. And the sesame wafer things. But to all you candy corn haters, what is the deal? It’s candy, it tastes like sugar. It doesn’t have an odd flavor like licorice or root beer or butterscotch or peanut butter, etc. It just tastes like sugar. Yum! Now the pumkin ones aren’t as good. I also like circus peanuts. ---

I just got a recipe for candy corn trifle. Looks yummy. Do they keep selling candy corn after Halloween? Because I want to make them, just not this week. ---

On Monday there will be piles of candy of all kinds on the discount tables at your local supermarket. The after-Halloween candy sales are almost as good as the after-Easter ones. ---

Here in San Antonio, I drove past a florist store the other day in a very Mexican part of town and one of the piñatas hanging up out front was one in the shape of a candy corn (true to life with a very understated smiley face). I laughed out loud and my first thought was that I hope for the kids’ who end up with it sake it wasn’t all candy corn inside. ---

**pancakes3** , I’d have gladly taken your Atomic Fireballs. I was addicted to those things when I was a kid. I’ll also gladly accept anyone’s unwanted Smarties, Sweet Tarts, Sprees and other sour candies. I wasn’t aware of all the hatred towards candy corn. People here seem to treat it like it’s the Halloween equivalent of fruitcake. I like it (candy corn, that is). As for the circus peanuts, I’m on board with all of you, along with any liquid-filled wax “candy”. Were any of these things test-marketed? For those of you who do like candy corn, do you ever sometimes nibble at them in sections (yellow, orange, white)? I look at this as being akin to twisting an Oreo cookie open and licking the cream filling. ---

Then eat the orange. Move to next kernal. I have to add one more to the list: gummi anything. Bears, worms, whatever. I don’t get it. They’re not that sweet, which is the point of candy, the flavor is blah, and the texture is icky. It’s not good chewy, it’s gunk in the teeth. Sticky gunk.
