I, for one, believe that if the US government wants us to think we went to the moon, then we need to be dutiful Americans and believe it and not try to debunk it. The government has only altruistic reasons for staging the hoax. ---

We’ve seen moon landing hoaxers, 9/11 truthers, antivaxxers and others of similar ilk (I don’t think we’ve had a Flat Earther yet but I could be wrong) so if we’re tending to shift directly into “let’s poke fun at the idiot” mode it’s because you’re just the latest in a long line of people who seem to think that the government is simultaneously so powerful and Machiavellian that it can control the tiniest details of a conspiracy and yet so incompetent that your average internet hero can find out all about it and post it on a bazillion messageboards. The government doesn’t need to discredit you and your kind. You do a fine, fine job of it all on your own. ---

Nowhere is this more true than in the Apollo program. NASA tell lies to cover up previous lies, and other discrepancies uncovered by people investigating the Moon landings. Altering previous data, removing photographs, and retracting statements made, only re-enforces the evidence that NASA are on the run, and being forced into a corner to which they cannot escape. Perhaps the biggest slip of the tongue was made by NASA Chief Dan Goldin when interviewed by UK TV journalist Sheena McDonald in 1994. He said that mankind cannot venture beyond Earth orbit, 250 miles into space, until they can find a way to overcome the dangers of cosmic radiation. No need for any of them to speak out because (A) They are 100% patriotic to the USA, and would say nothing that would go against America, even if it were true. (B) They do not need millions of dollars to safeguard their future, as they have already received substantial amounts from NASA just to “keep mum”.
