I’m not saying “this is fine”. I’m saying that American democracy has endured two world wars, a civil war, an invading army burning our capital, multiple depressions, panics, and recessions, several pandemic, the Red Scare, and Donald Trump and his cronies trying everything they could think of to undermine it. It’s not going to be ended abruptly by an older and more decrepit Trump declaring it so and expecting everyone to fall in line. My offer of a Coke remains valid for anyone who thinks there won’t be an election this year or in 2028. ---
