The argument that Trump will do whatever he wants and no one can stop him is really fucking boring

They are fundraising to fill their own pockets, and campaigning to as a show so the people will think that there is some kind of functioning government.

Quite a few things have changed. Trump is now a decade older. He’s in far worse health physically and mentally. He’s surrounded himself with far less competent cronies. His approval rating is down. The economy is much worse and there’s an impending financial catastrophe in the works when the AI bubble bursts. Many of his former strongest allies in Congress have turned on him.

He’s in no position to make an autocrat of himself.

I remind everyone that they are arguing with a summoner of demons, proceed at your own risk.

Right, so I’ll put you down for one Coke when there’s no election this November. Do you prefer regular, diet, or zero?

What I see is people with more faith in his competence and ability than the people who actually voted for him.

Whew! I guess that past performance IS INDEED a prediction of future events! We should be able to coast forwards now, secure in the knowledge that everything will be just fine, and we need do nothing except watch Netflix and just relax.
As we know, strong countries in the past have endured pretty much forever.

Don’t forget-All those other problems fixed themselves without bringing great harm to others, too.

Oh, there will be an “election”. And there will be a “Congress”.

Elections are great!

" Elections in North Korea are held every four-to-five years for the Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA), the country’s national legislature, and every four years for Local People’s Assemblies."

“In Russia, The State Duma (Gosudarstvennaja Duma ) has 450 members, elected for five-year terms.”

Did I say any such thing? No, I did not. Perhaps you’d like to engage with my actual point instead of the one that exists on the top of your head.

No, they didn’t. It took hard work to fix those problems.

Declaring that Trump is all-powerful and nobody can stop him is the opposite of that hard work. It is preemptive surrender.

You two are the ones advocating that there’s nothing we can do so we should all just sit around and wait for death.

Really? That’s not what this guy said.

You and him should fight.

He tried with his cultists, and just barely failed. Now he has a private army in the form of ICE to do it with. If the Democrats win he’ll kill them all.

Is this when I ask what we can do that will actually make a difference?
No, it isn’t, because I can’t be bothered with folks that are not connected to reality.

You’re not one of the two I was addressing.

Will this be before or after he invades Canada to cleanse it of Satanic pedophiles and nukes Africa to kill all the black people for Jesus?

I want to make sure I’ve got all of your doomsday prophecies in the right chronological order.

Liar.

Doesn’t change the fact that you’ve got nothing that wasn’t already been being done before you thought of it.

Tell me what you believe can be done to stop Trump, then.

I never claimed I was going to be the one to stop Trump.

I know this one! The Republican party becoming, somewhat, sane again.

Before, probably; it looks like he’s going to attack Mexico, Cuba or Greenland next.

And he won’t kill black people for Jesus; Jesus is not Trump, and therefore is unimportant. He’ll do it for himself, like everything else he does.
