Everything looks great, Gaudere! I might just have to get me a t-shirt, and a big poster for my office door. Does it mean anything that I like the young adult poster better than the adult poster?
You beat me to two of the books I was going to comment on, Atticus.
Why do people do this?
What? You mean Bush has nominated him to replace O’Conner?
Sorry, activist judges only need apply.
You wouldn’t, would you?
What are you trying to imply? Some kind of bias??? I resent that remark!!
One of the scenes includes a topless woman. Or so I’m told; I haven’t seen the book in a long time.
This answers one question and raises a much more pointed one.
Individually the words make sense, but together I simply cannot parse them.
This GQ thread is how I found this MPSIMS thread, so I should probably give it a reference. Gaudere might be able to give some more interesting facts, if nothing else.
I missed the Walter the Farting Dog should be banned.
This book reduced me to tears of laughter at the bookstore.
If they don’t think dogs don’t fart they’ve never been around dogs.
Great job! I’m a huge fan of banned books, which probably has a lot to do with why I’ve decided against teaching. My sister has informed me that I probably wouldn’t make it through a year, rebel that I am.
Walter the Farting Dog is absolutely hysterical, as is the sequel. I found a book by Munch 7 years ago, with a title something like Nice Families Don’t Have Farts. I didn’t have the dough to get it then, and have regretted it ever since. I really need to search for it to add to my literary fartanalia collection.

Very, very nice work, Gaudere!
Beautiful, Gaudere. Just beautiful!
Back in the 80s we did a cool window at the bookstore where I worked. We covered the whole front window with brown paper, stamped here and there with the word “Banned” and then tore out a few small peep-holes. Inside the window were all the books challenged that year.
Amazing how many people crowded around to peek in.

My wife and I had bookmarks printed as table favours for our wedding reception. We got LOTS, and have a big stack left.
That other thread is worth reading too. See Larry Mudd’s link to a Canadian “most challenged” list, with reasons and results.
Gaah! I had meant to post to this when I read it back on the 30th.
Gaudere: Great work. I am proud to see such a prominent SDMB denizen involved in this noble effort.
A bump because I just placed my order.
I don’t know how many people are going to the site (everyone, I hope!), but this stuff is very affordable: at first I’d planned to spend $22 on one poster, 100 bookmarks, and a button, but then I realized that for another $13 I could get all of that plus the other two posters and a list of banned/challenged books. I’ll hand out the bookmarks here at work, and I’ve already talked with my officemate about putting the posters up on our door (I’ll try to get all three up there, but at 15" x 38" only two might fit).
It’ll be cool to kind of (sort of) know the guy who designed everything!
Uh, Misnomer, you don’t know the guy who designed everything. At least, not unless Gaudere has something she’s not telling us.
Incidentally, Gaudere, did you pick out the quotes yourself, too, or just the graphic work? In any event, I definitely have to get at least a button or two.
:smack:
Well, that’s two mods/admins I’ve managed to do this to in my tenure here (the patient and gracious TVeblen being the other). Sometimes I’m amazed that y’all let me stay around.
I meant “guy” in a general, non-gender-specific way … yeah, that’s it…
