[This site](http://www.newnation.org/NNN-Black-on-White.html) seems to have a ton of links, but is clearly a fucking wacko white supremacist website, what with the polar bears and stuff. The fact that when you google the famous “white people are 50% more likely to be the victims of blacks in violent crimes” it’s the first 50 hits that comes up kind of proves my point about the state of discourse. Why should you have to go to a fucking stormfront-type website to get this news?!

Whites are more likely to be victimized by whites, and black as are more likely to be victimized by blacks. Everybody is more likely to be victimized by _poor_ people, and blacks ar more likely to be poor.
What is your ultimate point anyway? what, in your mind, is the _cause_ of this alleged “black on white crime” problem.

That’s not a famous quote, as far as I’m aware- and the fact that you can only find it on white supremacist websites should tell you something completely different from what you seem to think it’s telling you.
Incidentally, if these kids _are_ facing criminal charges for the assault (and they certainly fucking ought to be), they’ll get significantly more severe sentences for beating up a white kid than they would have for beating up other black kids- or if they were white.

You know, it’s a funny thing: I was trying to prove that the Holocaust never happened, and I ran into _exactly_ the same problem! And it happened again when I was looking for proof that all homosexuals are really child molesters! And you wouldn’t believe the sort of sites that came up when I was looking for proof that the Catholic mass is really a devil-worshiping ceremony! What does it say about the state of the state of the discourse when you have to go to Jack Chick, of all people, for proof that the communion wafer is really a death cookie?

Here is a better source if you are interested in looking up crime statistics by race:

In 2005, for instance, 17.7% of all stranger homicides were black on white; 4.5% of all stranger homicides were white on black.
In round numbers, there are about 5 times as many whites as blacks, so this does in fact, show quite a disproportionate ratio.

Is it your position that these statistics demonstrate that there is ‘a serious, unacknowledged black-on-white crime problem, the likes of which would be called “hate crime” or “race crime” if it were reversed.’?

Yes, but they’re also a smaller attacker pool. Still, the disparity is much more readily explained by socioeconomic status than anything else. Asians are victimized as often as white people but are perpetrators less often.

You know, I don’t believe this was racially motivated. But I do believe this, if this were white kids beating on a black we’d have far more Dopers posting that it was a racist attack, on exactly the same evidence.
