The Big Lebowski may actually be set in 1990. George Bush is shown on TV saying “this aggression will not stand” and it’s from 6 Aug 1990 according to a NY Times article I just looked up.

Yes, it’s set in 1990, the year of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. The Dude dates his check in the supermarket “September 11, 1991,” however, exactly ten years before 9-11, getting the year (he is the Dude, after all) wrong.

I’m trying to pin down the years Gulliver’s Travels was set.
According the original novel, Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships, (I love the old time book titles), the timeline breakdowns like this:
1699: Lemuel Gulliver visits Lilliput.
1702-1706: Lemuel Gulliver visits Brobdingnag
1706-1710: Lemuel Gulliver visits the floating island of Laputa, Balnibarbi, Luggnagg, Glubbdubdrib and Japan.
1710-1715: Lemuel Gulliver visits the Land of the Houyhnhnms.
We then would have to determine which movie version of Gulliver’s is the best. My take would be Gulliver’s Travels miniseries released in 1996 starring Ted Danson. It’s one of the few adaptions to feature all four voyages.
So I guess you could add Gulliver’s Travels(1996 version) to any(or all of the above years.) Or we could just pick 1702 as a year that isn’t taken and leave it there.
If we can add direct-to DVD movies, *Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder * is set in the year 3009.
I’d like to add Titan A.E. is set in 3043.

Minor nitpick: Dune is actually further in the future than the year 10191. It is 10191 by a calendar that came into being roughly at roughly the year 10,000. So Dune is actually set about the year 20,000, at least according the Dune Encyclopedia.
