The Current? It’s tough to listen to any of the other local stations after listening to them, isn’t it? Actually, it’s tough to listen to the others, period.
They’re also deathtraps. But I agree they certainly look better than 99% of today’s cars.
Though I do wonder what, precisely, is stopping auto makers from making a car that just looks exactly like an older car that everyone loves, but still putting in safety features? Why can’t you make a Mustang that, rather than being inspired by the early 70’s models, looks exactly like them, only it still has crumple zones, airbags, etc…?
The newspaper. I sure hope they don’t go away… I must have coffee and the paper in the morning.
Seriously, this thread is weird. I was not aware that horned toads have evolved since I was a kid.
Or that the kids are playing in the summer rain in some different way.
Or that fireflies are doing their thing differently than when I was a kid.
Or that people make stock differently than they used to. I’m still using my grandmas recipes. What is there some new-fangled chicken that’s evolved?
I have to disagree about board games though. Todays board games are hella better and more fun than checkers and monopoly.
I do agree about cars though. They looked hella cool back in the day.

I’d show you a cite but I can’t find one.
I remember that it used to be that Sun-worshippers would use oil to crisp up nice and tasty. Now it’s all about the SPF. I don’t know if we’ve lost enough ozone to make tanning more dangerous, or if that’s just a popular misconception. That might make a good GQ topic.
I like beer bottles that require an opener, rather than the new-fangled twist-off caps. The twist-off action somehow cheapens the experience of opening a bottle of beer. If I have a beer that’s got a twist-off cap, I still use an opener on it.

heres one I just recalled. I actually saw a drive thru dairy thing. Now Im curious and gonna go check it out, as I have never been to one. Its pretty small and looks like it has a small area for a car to pull up in, amd Im guessing someone comes out and asks how much milk you want, ? jas anyone ever seen or been to one of these? Defimately sounds old school though
Oberweis Dairy stores/restaurants/whatever you want to call them (around here anyway - NW Burbs of Chicago) have drive through windows.
Yeah. I miss 'em, too. How about 78s?
I still play 33’s, 45’s and 78’s!
