I kept looking around Bernadetteā€™s office for the espresso machine. šŸ˜ƒ I REFUSE to believe an engineer from MIT does not know that the Death Star is Star Wars, not Star Trek. They set up plenty of lines for Sheldon to go mutely crazy over, letā€™s stay within the bounds of credulity. I loved the retinal scanner bit. I kept waiting for it to say, ā€œSheldon Cooper, Access Denied.ā€ I think Bernadette was quite right to throw Penny out of her office. Very unprofessional of Penny to gossip like that at work. So Raj will be at loose ends while the rest of the boys buckle down to shrink this gyroscope. Maybe weā€™ll see more Stuart. ---

A show with several funny bits here and there. A major deviation from the recent norm. The best was the Sheldon not-talking bits. OTOH, the Penny-Bernadette stuff is more suitable for an _ABC After School Special_. Not a modern comedy. Regarding actors vs. the real people. If youā€™ve seen Jim Parsons on a talk show, you will realize that he _is_ Sheldon in terms of voice and movement. Heā€™s basically just saying his lines as himself. So the opposite if you want to laud someone for creating a new persona. So the top ā€œnot playing themselvesā€ in order are: Mayim/Amy, Kunal/Raj, Melissa/Bernadette. And even the latter just squeaks (!) by. She says sheā€™s doing her motherā€™s voice, but the difference is fairly small. Itā€™s the intensity she brings to the character that stands out. This is not to say, for example, the Simon Helberg isnā€™t a very good actor. He does a really good job in _Florence Foster Jenkins_. Johnny Galecki used to be a really good actor (_The Opposite of Sex_), but has been just mailing it in for a while on _TBBT_. Oh, look. Heā€™s doing the head tilt-squint thing again. ---
