What stumped me about the luring-children-into-a-van sequence, dubious as it was, and probably an urban myth, was that in a previous season Sheldon had made this exact analogy regarding president Siebert’s wish for them to attend a charity mixer — “_The tear-stained air mattress in the back of the van_.” therefore could not be ignorant here. If the writers didn’t catch it, the actor should have. It’s not a thought that comes up much. A D- episode, reduced to E- for Penny’s hair ---

I still like TBBT, but I was really disappointed when the group didn’t buy the comic book store. I feel like that could have provided some additional entertainment going forward. But no, we had to do a typical sitcom reset at the end of the show. I thought that was boring and unoriginal. ---

Episode 7:22 [Interior, Sheldon’s bedroom] (Sheldon awakes with a start. He hears the shower running. He knocks three times on the bathroom door. Getting no answer, he enters. He pulls back the shower curtain to reveal Leonard and Penny (with long hair) in the shower.) Penny: “Sheldon!” [Interior, living room, 5 minutes later] (Sheldon is on the couch. Penny is beside him, Leonard is in his chair) Sheldon: “It all seemed so real! I became disillusioned with string theory, rode the rails all summer, got robbed. You cut your hair. Raj got a girlfriend. We passed up a chance to buy a comic book store. Oh so many things happened, and it was all a dream!” Leonard: “I told you not to eat cold pizza and watch _Dallas_ reruns, but you wouldn’t listen.” ---

It’s not a thought that comes up much. You’re aware that Jim Parsons is an actor who doesn’t actually have eidetic memory, like the character Sheldon does, aren’t you? And that writers are far more interested in getting a laugh than in reviewing every line they write against every previous line that character has uttered. Or are you posting as Sheldon and I’m being whooshed? ---

I couldn’t tell you what I ate a few days ago, but I’m sure that if I had once read out lines about children being tricked into a van, I would recall it when they came up with the same premise. After all, I with a poor memory remembered it and there’s no reason why I should. An actor has a lot more at stake in continuity. **Series 4 Episode 15 – The Benefactor Factor** ---

Some nice bits at last. Amy realizing that no one told Penny to her face how much they hated her. The 3-way conversation between Raj, Penny and Redhead. (But still could have been much better.) Howard and Bernadette discussing investing in the comic book store. Of the 3 guys thinking about the van idea, I can see Sheldon and Raj being that naive, but not Howard. Howard is quite worldly about creepy stuff. And the idea of investing in a comic book store? These are not dumb people. Even Sheldon knows that you can buy all that stuff online for less. They know it’s a dying business, not an investment. With Debbie (sp?) being Stewart’s partner, can we expect her to “appear” at the comic book store? There is that room off to the left where she can hang out, after all. No comment of the vanity [card](http://www.chucklorre.com/index-bbt.php?p=463)? Is he really giving them up? Especially after the first one of the season being so [great](http://www.chucklorre.com/index-bbt.php?p=460). He’s just fooling with us, right? Whatever happened to Penny and Leonard living together? ---

All I could think of when Emily told Penny that she doesn’t like her because of that one time she and Raj had drunken sexytimes was "What the…how long ago was that…_who cares?!"_ I thought I’d like Emily’s character but no, I don’t. Her irrational jealousy is silly and immature, even for a sitcom. I’m sorry to see how unlikeable these characters have become. They’ve turned into a bunch of assholes. I’m only watching now to fill my lunch hour when I have to go home to let the dog out. ---

I’m quite sure Raj inflated his encounter with Penny when he mentioned it to Emily. Having to see someone you been informed was a major lover of your new boyfriend would make anyone a bit irritable towards them. Even after learning the encounter was just drunken fumbling I still can see her being upset. If Penny wasn’t part of the core group it would be different, but she is so it isn’t. ---
