I hate being on the sick boundary line. I’m not sick enough to justify staying home, but feel low-level cruddy at work. It’s a Vague Plague that a lot of people have at work: sniffles, cough, sinus guck, and low fever.

I’m overseeing an urgent project at work that would be a pain to re-schedule, so it’s not worth missing work for just “kinda sick.” If I were to get “really sick” I could stay home without guilt.

Blerrggghhh.

I kind of know how you feel. I’ve been home sick or working from home since last Wednesday, but felt I had to go in today even though, while I am better, I’m still coughing occasionally and feeling a bit blah. After a week, people start to wonder why you aren’t better yet and need to see you not looking so great to believe you were really sick.

I am feeling alittle hayfeverish. I think the spring disease has come a bit early even for So.Arkansas. I don’t work but I still can’t do all I need to do, mainly because I use any excuse I can to do absolutely nothin’. I respect people who have actual lives and have to work ill. I don’t know how you do it.

Just had to point out that the thread below this one is titled “I’ve crossed a threshold” 😃

Funny!

I crossed the sick boundary - left work early today, barfed on someone’s car in parking lot walking to my car to leave. Sorry, person with blue Honda sedan.

So much for dignity, not that I had much left.

I always assume that no one else wants to catch whatever I have and I certainly don’t want to catch what they have either. I stay home unless it’s imperative that I go into the office.

Me too, this is a rare time that something was actually critical.

I once had walking pneumonia when my wife was on a trip out of the country. She came home and immediately phoned my boss and said I wouldn’t be in as usual at 5 am tomorrow. Boss said “Good. I don’t know why he kept coming in every day”.

But then, I have to allow that he might have said that if I had been perfectly healthy, too.
