I just re-watched (most of) this last night. Let’s see how I do. 1.What did Bender do to get detention? Set off a fire alarm. 1. What did Brian do to get detention? Brought a flare gun to school. 3.Claire? No clue. 1. Allison? Nothing. She just didn’t have anything better to do. 2. Andrew? Taped Larry Whatshisname’s buns together. 3. What is the janitors name? Carl. 4. How much money did the janitor ask for from Vernon? $50 5. What does Allison put on her sandwhich? Sugar (pixie-sticks) and Cap’n Crunch. 6. Why does Bender have burns on his arm? He spilled paint in the garage. 7. What did Bender get for Xmas? A carton of smokes. 8. What does Bender’s dad request for a meal? Chicken-pot-pie. 9. According to Bender, what should he and Andrew’s dad do? Damn. It was a good line, but I can’t remember. 10. Why does Brian have a fake ID? So he can vote. 11. Who was a former winner of the “Shermer High School student Man of the Year” award? Carl the janitor. 12. According to Bender,why can’t his pot catch on fire? “Impossible sir; it’s in Johnson’s underwear.” Cracks me up every time. 13. Why does Claire have so much shit in her purse? "You never know when you have to jam – but that was Alison’s purse. 14. What would happen without trigonometry? There’d be no engineering. Of course, without lamps, there’s be no light. ---

Cap’n Crunch and sugar. 6. His dad burned him because he spilled paint in the garage. 7. A carton of cigarettes. 8. Turkey pot pie. 9. So he can vote. 10. There would be no engineering. I’m trying to find a script to prove you wrong, but my search keeps coming up with “Porn content is not allowed.” Damn filters! You might be right about trig. Brian does mention Physics Club at another point in the movie. Which is the one that engineering can’t do without? But I’m pretty sure that no reason is given for Bender’s detention. Vernon does mention pulling the fire alarm, but doesn’t say that’s the reason for this particular detention. I just figured it was one of many many things that Bender did and got punished for. Certainly that day was not his first Saturday in that library. ---
