So what’s the deal about church on Sundays? I remember in my younger (catholic) days being taught that one _should_ go to church on sundays, but one _must_ go on the holidays I listed. So I think the answer to the question
**9. What days must American Catholics attend church?**
should _not_ include sundays.

You remember incorrectly, my friend.

Among the six precepts of the church is the admonition that Catholics are obligated to attend Mass on Sundays and other Holy Days of Obligations. It’s not uncommon to speak of a Saturday Vigil Mass as “meeting the obligation”; that is, as counting towards the Sunday obligation to attend Mass.

- Rick

(For fun, the other five are: to fast and abstain on the days appointed, to receive the Eucharist at least once per year during the Easter season, to receive the Sacrament of Penance at least once per year during the Lenten season (only if serious sin is involved), to contribute to the support of the church, and to observe the laws of th church concerning matrimony.)

Now I really look like a moron – the game was over - bad week at work, thought today was yesterday.

Well, look forward to the next one. I enjoyed it, anyway. Thanks.
