I don’t mean to throw a damper on things, but the governor has just declared a state of emergency, the St. Patty’s day parade/donnybrook has been cancelled, colleges are throwing students out of their dorms, employers are running “work from home” drills, etc. So you should have some contingency plans in case Boston has become a ghost town next month.
I was going to mention this! It was over 30 years ago, but it was fun and interesting. I enjoyed seeing Paul Revere’s house and the USS Constitution. Also, as we were on the trail we passed the State House (?), and there was a flautist (?) in period dress playing on the steps who then went into the building and continued playing. We walked around the building, and she was in the room we passed by…still playing. She saw us through the window and winked. I still remember it as a cool, very local, kind of thing to see.
Top of the Hub restaurant at the top of the Prudential building might be a fun splurge. Don’t recall if the food was any good, went a long time ago, & its no doubt overpriced due to the location, but does give a beautiful overview of Boston & its environs, especially over the Back Bay, Charled river, & Cambridge.

& sorry for the double post, lousy on my phone!
Better hurry, it’s closing for good soon.
The POTish just banned travel from Europe. My brother and sister-in-law aren’t technically affected yet since there is an exception for the UK, but we talked it over and we think it will probably be extended to cover all of Europe soon. So we are cancelling the trip.
Sorry man, that sucks, Boston can be really nice in April. (Of course, it could also have a foot of snow). But it’s probably for the best, I suspect a lot of stuff will be closed through the next month. You could always buy some lobster at home and rent a motel room with a microwave if you want a budget Boston experience though.
Honestly, I found Fallout 4, especially the Freedom Trail parts, pretty useful. The scale is completely off, e.g. Swan’s Pond is much, much bigger in real life. But I had some sense of what was next on the route.
