It’s even worse than the lack of irony. The field of candidates is…I am desperately trying to convince my parents to move to Bend Oregon, where my cousin lives. At least there they would have a chance to be surrounded by normal (to mean not tongue dragging dipshits and crazy people as populate out state government right now). I’m sort of fearful for their well being. ---

My cousin gets a newspaper from a major small town in northern Idaho (the less Mormon part). Even up there, the less red part of the state, there is a lot of serious stupid and no small quantity of cray-cray. ---

Mom lives in Idaho. We live in Arizona. Its hard to play the “your crazies are crazier than our crazies” game because we both agree that our crazies are the craziest ones. The Bundy’s are edging out the recount, though. Chewbaca needs to step up to the plate, he’s been slacking since his lawyer said he should be released because he was in solitary confinement which was inhuman. He’s in solitary because he’s a shaman and can’t sully his aura with vaccines or some such shit. ---

And today I found out that there is a community called “Good Grief” in Idaho. Good Grief is an unincorporated community in Boundary County, Idaho. We took a road from Montana into Idaho that gets very little traffic, just to experiment with alternatives. Passing through the location that the map calls “Avery”, we saw a sign calling for the borders to be secured. Darn those darn illegal immigrants! This was in the north-bumfuckiest part of the country, on a turn through the high Bitterroots, fifty miles from the nearest actual town. The person who put that sign on their fence might not even recognize a ferrner if they saw one. But, darn it, secure that thousand-mile-away border! ---

Avery is an odd place. It relies on affluent fly fisherman and redneck ATV/SXS riders. The only immigrant workers they might ever see are the tree planting crews Idaho Dept of Forestry hires and I’m guessing those folks avoid Avery. But, your assessment is pretty close to spot on except for the “north-bumfuckiest” part. You have to get up to Bonners Ferry and Good Grief (see above) for that apt title. Minor nitpick (nutpick?), but the gold fringe is actually what they would want to avoid. That would indicate the supremacy of fake admiralty or commercial law, which the government imposed on us when we went off the gold standard in 1932, making all debts fake. The free state of Idaho would presumably be run under common law, as our founders intended, so no gold fringe. Why yes, stewardess, I speak dumbfuck. ---
