One of each. He can eat the one he likes best, and give the other to a girl.

I just wanted to comment on the passing of Peter Lougheed. He was a great leader for Alberta, literally the right man at the right time.
He stood up to Trudeau on the insane NEP. He was a driving force behind unifying Canada with a new constitution. He was a true statesman and I feel that Canada would have been better off if Lougheed had run for Prime Minister. A wide range of people from all over the political spectrum admired his integrity.
Start naming roads and schools after him, he deserves it.
Rest In Peace Mr. Lougheed. You will be fondly remembered by Albertans and deeply missed by your friends.
Jesus, I didn’t even notice them the first time around!
How could you miss those eyes. I got the sense that this lonely muskox was not long for this world.
I don’t care what anyone says. I have lived in 5 cities and two towns in 4 provinces, and I love Winnipeg. Not a fan of the Winters, or anytime mosquitos are out, but the other two weeks are lovely.
I kid, I kid. The people are friendly and I find it very livable. If I moved back toward central canada again I would probably move to Winnipeg before Thunder Bay, except of course if I was moving back to be close to my parents. But the plan is for them to move out to BC where both their children are before they need care.
Best perk of my former job at Canadian Blood Services was the occasional trips to Winnipeg!
You bought him a Riders doughnut, because you are cruel that way.
Actually, I think you got him the doughnut and a single chocolate Timbit, though you will insist on having a bit of the doughnut because you got more than he would otherwise have been allowed to have.
Off to the Als’ game… kill the doughnutty Riders!
I bought one of these today - Coffin Crisp! There were also Scaeros (Aero bar), Scairties (Smarties) and Kit Kats (with a black cat on the label) available.
Alouettes beat the Riders on a perfect sunny day. Then my friends and I wandered past tam-tams and volleyball and had poutine at La Banquise and I had a nice nap and am now watching NFL on the TV. It was a good day
Lacrosse has come to Thunder Bay as healing medicine for youth convicts. Lacrosse played for healing at youth detention centre | CBC News
Thanks for the link Muffin. I like news from home, and I don’t always see as much as I would like.
Ah, lacrosse. Is there nothing you can’t do?
I forgot my own CFL story from yesterday - just for the heck of it I tried to name all eight CFL teams, and it turns out I know about six of the eight. I’m not much of a football fan.
(I could name eight NFL teams, though - I thought that was very impressive! )
For a non-football fan, I was very impressed with how many she got!
Any thoughts on American company Lowe’s apparently giving up its takeover attempt on Canadian company Rona?
I’d say this is excellent news. Canada needs less foreign ownership, not more. Screw Lowe’s!
Lowe’s sucks!
I went to Rona today and saw a notice on the door about how they’re the CANADIAN hardware store with CANADIAN ownership and buying CANADIAN is good for CANADIANS! Subtle.
The Rona nearest me is atrocious. We’ll drive an extra 20 minutes out of the way to go to the Home Despot. Sure, it’s cool that they are Canadian…but not once have they EVER had the item we needed in stock, the store is dark and cavelike, and I kept expecting the staff manning the tills to lurch off groaning “nnnrrrrrr…brrrraaaaiiiinnnnnsssss”
That’s very cool. I used to think that team sports generally sucked (being a geek through high school) but over time I have come to see the merits more and more (obnoxious parents in the stands notwithstanding).
hmm, I always thought Rona was a Quebec company, not Canadian… <ducks>
Seriously, I think it was probably a good thing. It gets progressively harder to buy local. I used to drop a fair bit of money at MEC but that has decreased significantly over time, especially on outerwear, since they can’t find Canadian mfrs anymore.
Also, Winnipeg rocks.
In Québec, it’s a Québecois company
I’m indifferent to RONA, Home-Depot, Reno-Déco and Canadian Tire…depends what I need and whatever’s closest. My expectations aren’t all that high anyways. That might change if/when we own a house and I actually have major things to do. We are looking to buy - possibly soonish.
I also need a new car - mine is making weird grinding noises when I turn the wheels, and today there was an ad for a tow truck on my car…I think the universe is trying to tell me something. I don’t know what, though - 16+ years and 326000km…it’s still a baby! I’m overly attached to that POS.
Rona apparently uses a lot of Canadian suppliers, which Lowe’s does not, and probably never will. I’m for keeping jobs in Canada where practical.
