One thing that strikes me when watching tv or movies from the 80’s and even 90’s is how the lack of cellphones makes everything so freaking complicated! If you put a cellphone in so many of the stories. the episode would be over in five minutes. 🙂 ---

A registered [logo](http://www.ottawacitizen.com/sports/football/Ottawa+franchise+register+logos/8456582/story.html) for the new Ottawa CFL team has been discovered. The RedBlacks! Although not announced officially, it appears that the new franchise will be named the RedBlacks. What an awesomely inspiring franchise name. It just rolls off the tongue. And in case you may be French, they have also registered Rouge et Noir. Awesome. Great imagination. ---

They really wanted a name beginning with an “R” so the old “R” helmet logo could be used, I think. Ottawa Renegades was the last failed franchise. Other “R” names under consideration were Raftsmen, and Rush, along with Nationals, and Voyageurs. And I thought “Senators” was a shitty name 20 years ago. ---

It may also be influenced by the New Zealand All Blacks, which is a very successful national rugger team. Plus the Université Laval’s Rouge et Or (“Red and Gold”). Which isn’t to say I like it. I think it’s a stupid name. If they wanted to keep the R and link to their traditions, while respecting the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ trademark, they should have gone with “Riders, Rough.” 🙂 ---

Seems odd to me, as I’ve never had trouble getting a hold of either tech support or customer service at Shaw. Why would their cable service be markedly different from the satellite? ---
