Well he might want to check out the Fuddruckers in Union City then. It’s off 880 in the new Union Landing complex, nestled between the Krispy Kreme, Tony Roma’s, Texas Roadhouse, Chevy’s, Chili’s, TGI Fridays, Applebees, Jollibee, and the soon to be finished In N Out Burger. Yes, it’s true; Union City is now the home of lame trendy fast food.

FTR, I think the first Carl’s Jr commercial with the birthday singers was funny and hit the nail on the head, but the others are pretty offensive. (But I did laugh because all the old people were wearing sweatsuits, heh heh.)

They did. I mentioned this in my post above.

BTW, years ago, before Green Burrito, it was called “Taco de Carlos”, with a sombrero-wearin’ Happy Star logo.

[sub]I know WAYYYYY too much about fast-food chains…[/sub]

There are still Green Burritos in San Diego.

Chalk me up as another person who will never voluntarily set foot in Carl’s Jr again, due to those disgusting “In Your Face” commercials. Heave.

> Sorry I can’t put you any closer, stuffinb, but if you try here, you can get a map to the one in Walnut Creek. Not exactly walking distance, I realize, but maybe you could drive there, if the memory of your Fuddrucker’s burger is a strong enough motivator. Come on! It’s due east of Berkeley! How far could it be?

Thanks **kaylasdad99** I can get there. But I’m even closer to the one **voguevixen** mentions in Union City. I was just there last weekend and didn’t even see the place. I’ll keep it in mind next time I go to that big ass movie theater there.

I’m pretty sure that would be the 55 freeway. Exit 17th street.

As a trivial aside, Knowllwood is owned and operated as a kind of off-site extension of **Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant** of Knott’s Berry Farm fame (Disclaimer: the park hasn’t been owned by the Knott family for years, and there haven’t been any berries farmed there in even more years).

That’ll teach me to be parochial. I was assuming Union City was _waaaayyyy_ up North in Gold Mining country.

I need to work on my California geography, so I can help Michaela when she gets into sixth grade and has to build a replica of Mission San Juan Capistrano out of sugar cubes in order to graduate to seventh. But she just started Kindergarten, so I’ve got a little time.

No I don’t. I’d rather eat boiled yak’s eyes than anything from a CJ’s. Vile, hideous chow; in my less than humble opinion, the very worst of the fast food chains.

My biggest complaint abou Carl’s Jr. burgers is that they put the meat on top of the lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. I have trouble keeping the meat from sliding out. The meat should be directly on the bottom bun with everything else piled on top.

Why dont you turn the hamburger upside down the next time you order one?

Then all the items will be in the order you like 'em

I didn’t like the strange pickles that they put on the 6$ burger. It was ok overall but for a dollar less you can get a “Double-Double” from In and Out and it is the best burger there is, IMHO. Of course, you have to come to California, Nevada, or Arizona to try one.
