Hullo. Am trying to flat iron my hair and post–not working real well. Saturday at work, a family approached me re their loved one’s diet. Seems the pt eats alot of rice and gravy and they would like that now. I order it up (we really can’t do short orders, but I figured this once–it was received and they thanked me.) Yesterday at work, same family came to me and complained that ALL their loved is given is rice and gravy. (It happened to be the entree for dinner–there was no special order for the pt to always get rice and gravy). Family VERY put out and angry. I will never understand people. ---

“This too shall pass” is very appropriate and I think will be my mantra for the week. I’ve dumped enough on other people already and I’m relatively calm today so I’m not going to rehash it all, but let’s just say I’m pretty pissed at my parents right now. They had impeccible timing throwing shit on top of my already stressed life with the job search and move and wedding coming up. But yeah, this too shall pass. And maybe it’ll be a good thing to be 1/2 a continent away from them. Other than that the weekend was good. My kind eye doctor gave me sample contacts so I don’t have to go buy some for the wedding and for snorkeling on the honeymoon. Those are really the only two times I want to wear them - I had contacts for a while and just prefer glasses - so I’m very appreciative of free samples. And I have a place to have a party in the summer of '07 to introduce \*\*KeithT \*\*to all of my extended family and friends. Basically anyone who’s not in the group of 16 that will be at the actual wedding will get invited to the party the following summer. It’s a cool old potato barn that’s been converted into a place to have parties and stuff. Although I want the wedding itself to be very formal, we both want the party to be very laid back and fun. I think a bbq at an old barn in the summer will be just right. So now if I can just get through follow up interviews tomorrow and Wednesday and not think about my &\*@#$%\*parents during that time, I’ll be fine. Yes, this too shall pass. I’ll just keep saying that over and over. ---

Good morning all. Yes, it’s still morning here on the West Coast. Very good OP **mika** , and a fairly good philosophy. Sometimes though, the waiting for whatever it is to pass, is very painful. \*\*FCM, \*\* the hotel I’m staying in is the Hampton Inn in Alexandria. The address is 4800 Leesburg Pike. We had a fairly good weekend, but now I’m at work and don’t wanna be. Temps are supposed to reach the 70s today. **taxi,** I hope things go well for you on ALL fronts. What on earth made all the google ads be about ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan), I wonder? Nobody has mentioned employee, stock, ownership or plan. Well, \*_taxi_ has wedding plans but she didn’t say plan. Hmmm… Ok, speaking of employees, I have a couple who always manage to screw up time sheets. I just don’t know what they are doing to make formulas drop in an Excel spreadsheet. _Sigh_ It’s every two weeks. Send 'em another copy of the time sheet cause they screwed it up again. I just wanted to say, even though I’m really busy at work - I don’t intend to neglect you guys just because the SO is home. I have a \*great \* plan for this week. Well, this week I’m going to treat you to an extra special event - **A detailed plot synopsis and breakdown of one of my favorite Indian movies, in installments! YAY!** I mean, they’re three hours so it’d have to be in installments, because I know the attention span of the average MMP’er…ooo, shiny! ---

I’ve always had this guilty spot for thinking I wanted to see some good Bollywood but never taking the time to actually do it. While you’re at it, **mika** , how about recommending a good starter or two for newbies to the genre? ---

Haven’t read the whole thing on account of eyes being blurry. Only got two hours of sleep. Stupid frigging insomnia. Nevertheless, _I_ got it, **Happy Clam**. I think it’s funny. I will be repeating “This, too, shall pass.” all day at work. Wish me luck in staying awake! I’m now working 2 till 10 on Mondays, and I’m not sure 2 hours sleep is enough for 8 hours working. ---

I think one of the things most people miss about the philosophy “This too shall pass” is that the good shall pass too. In other words, appreciate what you’ve got right now, because you may not have it tomorrow. I’m a big fan of the Broadway show [Avenue Q](http://www.avenueq.com/productionphotos.html), which has this theme in its big Finale song “For Now”: Everyone’s a little bit unsatisfied. Everyone goes 'round a little empty inside. Take a breath, Look around, Swallow your pride, For now… Nothing lasts, Life goes on, Full of surprises. You’ll be faced with problems of all shapes and sizes. You’re going to have to make a few compromises… For now… But only for now! For now we’re healthy. For now we’re employed. For now we’re happy… If not overjoyed. And we’ll accept the things we cannot avoid, for now… ---
