Yea! No more cage. Do I detect some very light tabby markings? A cream tabby with white? Whatever he is, he’s gorgeous. I adopted a brown torby last April that was three. I thought she and the four year old tabby would be good companions. They’re working on it… ---

He DOES look like a tuxedo cat. Google defines tuxedo as “a man’s dinner jacket”. I don’t remember you as being a particularly mean person; so I’m going to chalk this mean response up to “having a bad day”. To the OP: He looks like a younger version of my cat, Clint. Clint, a.k.a. Mister C or Buddy, is balanced, kind, and playful. Clint is 10, and you couldn’t want for a better companion. You could want one that didn’t have UTIs though. ---

What a handsome guy. Thank you for getting an older cat from a rescue, they are often forgotten. I’ve found that our cats always tell us their names after a while. I hope he settles in quickly and that you have many happy years together. ---

And sometimes even if you find the perfect name, you will still call them by something else. Smokey is nearly always referred to as The Dark One. Blue is My Real Pet Cat. ---

Hmph. Cats are not to be trusted. Last March, Mrs. SMV and I adopted a sweet little guy who jumped into my wife’s lap and purred and purred. We took him home, so that Mrs. SMV would have a little lap cat to go with Mina, my mackerel tabby lap resident. Almost a year later, Duncan is nine pounds of insouciant attitude, who will, on rare occasions, deign to accept a stroke or two. Except of course when _he_ wants to be cuddled, a message usually conveyed via a couple of sharp claws to the naked, sleeping back around 4 a.m. Mrs. SMV threatens to take him back to the shelter because he lied on his application. ---

He has yellow eyes; you’re done for. The best you can expect is to live your life cleaning a box, sharing your food… …having him sleep by your feet on cold nights, watch cable with you, eat your hair when you are asleep, sleep on part of your pillow at times & purr into your ear, throw a paw over you at 3 AM and purr ‘Mine’, etc, etc… ---
