God, when I first saw the title of this thread (I had no idea this had existed before) I was more than a little sickened. I couldn’t believe that people could award points for death, this whole thing seemed pretty wrong. But then I got to reading it. Not only is it bloody entertaining (I’m compiling my list for 2006 as I write this) but it’s incredibly informative as well. I had no idea who most of these people were before following the links you were courteous enough to provide alongside the deceased celebrity. Especially to **Captain Lance Murdoch** for the link about the Willmar 8. That was a really great read. So yay for dopers! I love this place… ---

I noticed that Wikipedia is saying that William Proxmire (Golden Fleece Awards) has died (June 2) of lung cancer, but I can’t find anything on [cnn.com](http://cnn.com) or anywhere else. Normally, Wikipedia is fairly reliable; this is mentioned in two places there, so if it’s vandalism, it’s thorough. ---
