The first notable death of 2006. Sheik Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai has croaked. I would imagine everyone whiffed on that one. ---

Sheikh Maktoum was also vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (Dubai is one of the seven emirates that the nation comprises). In addition, he was a major [owner of racehorses](http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=racing/06/01/04/RACING_Maktoum_Lead.html). Sheikh Maktoum passed away at the age of 62. ---

First I was pissed because I thought I removed Sharon for someone younger. Then I felt happy when I went back I saw I didn’t. Now I just feel kind of dirty. Not a death sentence of course. Look at Dick Clarke, Kirk Douglas etc… ---

I toyed with putting him on, too, then, since I know so many old folks who have had minor strokes and lived on for ten years, I said “Naaaah.” Dang. ---

I think a new hard fast rule of DPing is to have Middle East Leaders and Rappers. Or you will be doing :smack: Which I am because I had Ariel Sharon in my top twenty, but he obviously didn’t make the cut. ---

Good point, but then again, he isn’t on mine, which raises the chance he will kick the bucket. Rachm can only fit 13 on the list after all. _Someone_ has to be left off. ---
