So that’s two votes. Who (if anyone) runs the official rules? Can I just accept two votes on this and go ahead and try to temporarily cheer him up? Also, it’s occurred to me that perhaps he is on somebody else’s list for this year. So if I am trying to keep him alive this year does that count as somehow nobbling another player’s horse (as it were)? Geez this game is so complicated! ---

What if your well-intentioned letter actually made the recipient more despondent and caused them to kill themselves sooner? I don’t understand. If he dies in 2007, you get the points. In fact, you get one less point if he dies in 2008. Why is it so important to promote him for 2008? ---

Yes, I checked the list after posting. Well, but that’s the way the pastry disintegrates. Gerald Ford was on my list, but he died in 2006. I promoted J.D. Salinger instead of Anna Nicole Smith, and then she died, leaving me still a DP virgin. ---

Pffft Rilchiam, you are clearly no games player. If this guy survives to January then he can be on my list next year. There’s points practically begging to be taken here, it would be almost rude not to encourage him to live. ---

No, I know that. I’m just saying, if he does die in 2007 and you don’t get the points for him, that’s how it goes. People say all the time how having this person or that person on their list guarantees longevity. Shane McGowan is probably surviving by the sheer power of being on so many people’s lists. ---

Well if you want to accept that then fine. But there are other ways to ‘play’ the game. Why would people think Shane MgGowan is going to die? He’s not particularly unhealthy that I know of and he’s not that old. Unless folks are going for the unexpected death prize. ---

If you want to be shocked, do a Google image search on his name, and check out his teeth (or lack thereof). ---
