Here’s my all nerd list: Stan Lee (December 28, 1922) - Long time editor of Marvel Comics and co-creator of dozens of superheroes like Spider-Man, the Hulk, and Iron Man. He has been looking awfully frail lately. Potential ironic death: radiation overdose that does not grant super powers. Harlan Ellison (May 27, 1934) - Science fiction author and infamous curmudgeon. I figure he has to burst a blood vessel one of these days. Potential ironic death: struck by car while visitors from the future look on. Nolan Bushnell (February 5, 1943) - Creator of Pong, Atari, and the father of the video game industry. Potential ironic death: heart attack after thirty-eight hour marathon Berserk session. George Lucas (May 14, 1944) - Star Wars director and renown raper of childhood memories. Potential ironic death: electrocuted when examining the server that contains Jar Jar Binks. Hayao Miyazaki (January 5, 1941) - Japanese animator who is widely regarded as the greatest living animation director and has a good showing in the “of all time” debate. Potential ironic death: blimp crash. Steve Jackson (born 1953 but he hides the day well) - Game publisher and creator of GURPS. He’s on the list mainly because Gary Gygax died last year. Potential ironic death: slips and is impaled on a pile of d4’s. George R. R. Martin (September 20, 1948) - Writer of the ever expanding A Song of Ice and Fire series. Potential ironic death: crushed under a truck load of Wheel of Time books. William Shatner (March 22, 1931) - Minor actor from a Twilight Zone episode. Potential ironic death: caught in his personal safe and he can’t remember the combination to get out. Alan Moore (November 18, 1953) - Comic book writer who I wouldn’t include except that I suspect that the release of the Watchmen movie may kill him. Potential ironic death: someone shaves his beard and steals his power. Shigeru Miyamoto (November 16, 1952) - Video game designer and creator of Super Mario Brothers.
