Thanks for running this **amarone**. This year will forever be remembered for the time I scored 88 points in one day. ---

Just heard about this tonight, Figured this thread was better for it. The guy who had the idea to put Cartoon Character heads on Pez dispensers died 12/15 [http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/03/business/03allina.html](http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/03/business/03allina.html) ---

> [@amarone](#): > > Inside Track with the Grim Reaper > > **Sublight** , for a massive five successful unique picks: Griffin Bell, Tapan Sinha, Juana Tejeda, Him Mark Lai and J. G. Ballard. I would suppose they’d be unique because who the hell are any of those people? ---

Umpteen way tie for 154th place, with 0 correct picks and 0 points. I nominate myself and all my fellow last placers for the “Guardians of Life Award”\*. \*That sounds better than the “OMG You suxxor at Death Pool Award” ---

I got 4 down this year. Mostly high value targets. But still only made 14th. Without michael Jackson, you had a hard time to compete. ---

> [@gonzomax](#): > > I got 4 down this year. Mostly high value targets. But still only made 14th. Without michael Jackson, you had a hard time to compete. I beat you in numbers – I had 5 (including Michael and Farrah and Swayze, all fairly high pointage) – but you beat me in points. Something seems wrong about that. My other 2 were Ted Kennedy and Robert Novak, BTW. ---

I don’t really cook, but we have microwave popcorn and I DVR’d LOTR: Return of the King… 😃 [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/the-celebrity-death-pool-2009/475262.md?page=88)
