[Danny McDevitt](http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-danny-mcdevitt-20101124,0,4491007.story), who was unaware he would soon have a place in baseball history when he won a 2-0 decision against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the last day of the 1957 season, has died at the age of 78. McDevitt’s shutout turned out to be the Dodgers’ last game ever at Ebbets Field, as team owner Walter O’Malley announced two weeks later that he was moving the team from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. ---
