[Hank Raymonds](http://www.jsonline.com/sports/goldeneagles/111378344.html), who served as head coach Al McGuire’s top assistant during Marquette’s run to the NCAA Division I basketball crown in 1977, has died at the age of 86. Following that championship season, McGuire retired and was succeeded by Raymonds, who guided the team for the next six campaigns before stepping down and becoming the school’s athletic director. ---

My first thoughts re: Elizabeth Edwards’ death: SUMBITCH! There goes some low-hanging fruit I was hoping to harvest next year. My second thoughts: At least she had a peaceful end. I am a good person…eventually. When I didn’t have my list for next year almost picked out and now I have a space to fill. ---
