(midnight Thursday to Midnight Sunday) I have zero reason to base this on, it’s all death pool hunches. ---

A bit off topic here… I had to explain today at work exactly what a Dead Pool was to my boss and co-supervisor. I explained the scoring system. The Rules Hey, even Twisted Peeps like us have to have _some_integrity. I told them they will come over to the dark side soon enough and join in the morbid jocularity that is the sweet, sweet " Wooo Hooo! I just scored on a dead midget!!!" fist pump. They don’t look at me the same way anymore. I guess I shouldn’t have told them that I popped my DP cherry one year with the Pope, huh. ---

I would count, but I can only reach the hardbacks, my paperbacks are all boxed up. And not only was he the Queen Mother’s jockey, she apparently loved to read his novels when they were published every year. If they were talking about “Bolt”, the only one I can think of with a horse being killed outright, I would think the last Sid Halley book, “Come to Grief” would have really set them off. The horses were mutilated and it was much nastier in many ways than the earlier one. ---
