[John Kibler](http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/20/sports/baseball/20kibler.html), who served as a National League baseball umpire for about a quarter-century, has died at the age of 81. Kibler was umpiring at first base during Game 6 of the 1986 World Series when Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner committed the error that allowed the New York Mets to score the winning run, tie the Series at three games-all, and win the world championship two days later. ---

Edward Schillebeeckx has passed away. I actually have never heard of him before, but at any rate his name was Edward Schillebeeckx. As a punishment his teachers would make him write his name in a notebook 100 times. For a more serious, down to earth, perfectly respectful obit and all go to edward-schillebeeckx-obituary ---
