Dale Hawkins, best known for “Susie Q”, died Saturday.
Kathryn Grayson, who appeared in such classic movie musicals as Kiss Me, Kate and Show Boat, has died at the age of 88. (Personal note: My sister Kathryn was named in Ms. Grayson’s honor.)
Jim Bibby, who pitched a no-hitter for the Texas Rangers in 1973 and made the 1980 All-Star Game roster as a Pittsburgh Pirate, passed away at 65. Bibby also helped Pittsburgh win the World Series in 1979.

Al was a strange duck in the Army. Kissinger promoted him from brigadier to lieutenant general in one jump. When he was SACEUR his class A uniform was fully embroidered. His rank, his ribbons, his name tags all sewn onto the uniform by some crazed tailor.
