For me it is showing the last update as being Sep 1, even after a refresh.
eta: I cranked up the much-maligned Internet Explorer and it shows a recent Wikipedia page with the actor’s death noted. I am currently using Chrome, after having tried Firefox for a couple of months, and for me neither has been as reliable as IE.
Try a Ctrl-F5 refresh. It’s like an “I’m serious” refresh, it tells the browser to go and get a new copy of the page instead of just reloading the page.
He was 96? Wow. Funnily enough I was just reading the thread about Weird Al and thinking about McCarthy’s performance in UHF. He would have been, what, 74 when he made that? I wouldn’t have guessed.
It’s pulling the right page now anyway. What puzzles me is why it would show an old version of a page I had never visited before - it certainly could not be cached on my machine.
Just found out about this, and it saddens me. I met him a few times back in the late '80s. His on-stage persona was rude and abrasive, but he was a really nice guy.
:(, indeed.
