The Celebrity Death Pool 2010

On Wheel the other night Johnny Gilbert was filling in and Pat mentioned giving Charlie some “time off”. I don’t remember the exact quote, but the phrasing and tone seemed odd and I got the weirdest feeling he probably wasn’t long for the earth…

I’m surprised to learn he’s only 76 years old. He looked beyond old 20 years ago.

Jerry Bock, Fiddler on the Roof composer, dead at 81.

DAMN stupid coincidence!

Jerry Bock also composed Fiorello!, which starred Tom Bosley (and won them both Tony Awards).

This is getting creepy, even for the Death Pool.

I know. I thought the same thing. I assumed he was 75 around 1995 or so.

His hair went white when he was young. nowadays, he would have died it.

That’s three World Series for Sparky Anderson, not 2.

All in about 10 years time, as well. Very impressive.

God dammit, these are points I don’t want. :frowning: Met him at a game once, he signed his book for me.

Fuck.

Viktor Chernomyrdin, who served as Russia’s prime minister from 1992 to '98, has died at the age of 72. From 1985 to '89, Chernomyrdin had headed the Soviet Union’s oil and gas ministry, which he later helped transform to Gazprom, a state gas company that now anchors Russia’s economy.

Yeah, old people dying! What are the odds?!?

Topol still lives!

Last night I dreamt (is that a word?) of THE DEAD POOL and how I had one pick that no one had and that pick died and you all hated me when I was catapulted to the numbero Uno spot.

It was pretty awesome ( and improbable, considering the lead the two Grim Reapers have). But, no, I won’t tell you who the stiff was in the dream, the stiff isn’t that rare of a pick at all. But I woke up thinking I gotta see if X died..

To gain the lead, your celeb would need a negative age, and that’s not allowed since they would be under 18.

Don’t worry, I hate you just for dreaming that.

Aaaaaaaand points I won’t get- Sparky was on my list for years, but he had to move to make way for a bunch of ex-NFLers who were SUPPOSED to die tragically young…

Screenwriter Monica Johnson dead at 64. Score triple points if you dreamed about her last night.

Just heard on the radio that Sparky Anderson has stopped circling the drain.

Poet Adrian Paunescu dead at 68.

Eugenie Blanchard, who had been the world’s oldest living person, passed away at the age of 114. A native and resident of the French Caribbean island of St. Bart’s, she had also been known as Sister Cyria, and had spent much of her life in a convent on Curacao.

Clyde King, a former major-league pitcher and manager, has died at the age of 86. King compiled a lifetime 32-25 record with the Brooklyn Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds. He later managed the San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, and New York Yankees.

30 years in a geriatric care center. I’m guessing Curacao has some kind of health care situation that we don’t here.

30 years ( ish) as a nun ( no reason was given why she left the order or if she was still a nun at all, but a free agent of sorts.)

Right there is 60 years of someone else paying her bills and she probably lived with her family until she became a nun.

Jill Clayburgh, aged 66.
