Not only do I like her, (My husband and I have a few “our songs” and _At Last_ is one of them) but I was thinking of her for my 2012 list as part of a “Last” theme, which i have since abandoned. I was going to keep her on my theme-less list anyway, and now it will look like a bandwagon pick. ---

Ever notice that every December some Big Name Singer seems to be terminally ill? Lou Rawls. Aretha Franklin ( though she was ‘cured by prayer’ or , oh, I don’t know, misdiagnosed.) And now Etta James. There have been one or two others, but December is not a good month if you are a Legendary Singer. ---
