[Very First Spelling Bee Winner dies of hard-to-spell disease](http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42222043/ns/us_news-life/?gt1=43001) at age 97. Okay, it’s not that hard to spell, but I’m a terrible speller. Corpse is easy to spell though. And this bee champ is one now. ---

No more morbid than the networks that keep such things and the newspapers that have obits for every famous person on the planet all ready to go. As Stephen King, who has cheated death twice (once from heavy drug use and once when hit by a van), put it “We all owe a death.” ETA: It gets posted almost every year in this thread that someone will tell a friend about the Deathpool and be told “That’s disgusting.” Then, when famous person dies, same friend will ask if anyone in the Pool had them. ---
