GD Spradlin dies at 90; veteran character actor
Oklahoma-born character actor, former oilman and one-time Oklahoma City mayoral candidate Gervase Duan “G.D.” Spradlin, best known as the corrupt senator in “The Godfather: Part II” and an Army intelligence officer in “Apocalypse Now,” has died. He was 90.
I swear, I remember him best as head coach B. A. Strothers in North Dallas Forty … “not one of you is as good as the computer!”
Dan Peek, co-founder of the group America, dead at 60.
Peek did not write “Horse With No Name,” so unfortunately, that did not die with him.
