I’ve picked Betty Ford in past years. If I had taken her this year, I’d have broken out of the Winehouse pack and made the top twenty.
No regrets though. There’s still plenty of time and Fidel Castro ain’t getting any younger.

For what it’s worth, Google is celebrating the fact that Lucille Ball has been dead for 22 years.
I love the Google doodle today!
And Zsa Zsa remains a leg up on that.
Don’t know if anyone had her, butAnnette Charles has cha-cha’d off into the sunset.
Dammit, Death! Zsa Zsa, not Cha Cha!
Annette Charles was not on anyone’s list. August has been a slow month so far, hasn’t it?
Hugh Carey, governor of New York when I was a little kid, has died during yet another big fiscal crisis. He was 92.
Mark Hatfield, former Oregon governor and senator, dead at 89.
In case you have not heard about this. it is sad. A 3 pack a day smoker with liver cancer.
Actually the article says she smoked up to 4 packs a day!
That is a lot of smoking. My dad did 4 packs of Camels and dies at 51. That is chain smoking.
The link is about Penny Marshall, just in case you didn’t feel like reading anything that sad.
I knew a guy in China that smoked 6 packs a day(only 20 cents per pack). He smoked always. Always.
Heck, he woke up ever few hours and quick-smoked a few cigs at night.
And he drank a bottle of Baijiu a night(78% alcohol - 156 proof).
He was 38, looked 55, and will probably be dead by 45.
How long does it take to smoke a cigarette? How many hours are you awake? Can you smoke 4 packs a day?
10 minutes a cigarette would be 6 in an hour or 96 in an 16 hour day. Almost 5 packs.
you can if you light the next one with the end of the one you’re currently puffing on - my sister did that
Who is one of my picks for this year.
She’s going on my short list for 2012.
My husband smoked 4 packs a day, long before I met him. He quit cold turkey the day the doc showed him spots on his lungs. Probably 15 years ago.
That depends upon the cigarette and where one is smoking. It’s pretty easy to suck down a stick in five minutes. Many of the “light” cigarettes burn like fuses and last about three minutes. I managed close to three packs a day for roughly 17 years. Quit smoking 15 years ago, and looking at today’s prices I figure only a total idiot smokes now.
