I haven’t found a link, but twitter is buzzing a bout the death of former Baltimore Oriole Pitcher, Mike Flanagan, age 59. Found dead at his home.

FTR, “Conch” is a term that is well known among Dopers who play Rebo’s feuds. It basically means a “cinch”.

Reading the article, Table Tennis changed the net height from 6.75" to 6" in 1934 in order to “add excitement” to the game. If you say it out loud, it sounds funnier and funnier. (Something that Cliff Clavin might say at Cheers.) Who knew that Ping Pong was one of the first sports to change rules to make their sport more exciting.
