TWiT (This Week in Tech) is a show that’s broadcast live at the link above every Sunday afternoon, and is made available later in the week as a downloadable podcast. A big part of the show is the IRC chatroom, where viewers can comment on and contribute to the show while it’s in progress. Before today’s show started, Leo (the host) and his guests were chatting about Ernest Borgnine’s death. He mentioned that there was no good website to check for the breaking news about celebrity deaths, so someone in the chatroom posted a link to this thread. Leo pulled it up and read the first few lines of Baker’s OP explaining the game and its rules. (He also quoted the “fighting ignorance” motto, which got some laughs.) As mentioned, it happened during the pre-show, when they’re setting up mics, prepping the guests, etc., so won’t be found in the downloadable podcast, but a few weeks ago they demoed a feature they’re working on to allow hotlinking to any moment in any of their shows. If they allow hotlinking to the pre-show content, I’ll post one to this thread’s appearance once they make it available (it happened three or four minutes before I posted my comment, so should be easy to track down once that feature is available). ---

Got to meet Laporte and Norton in 2004. Laporte actually mentioned me\* on an episode of The Screen Savers. - He made the comment that someone handed him a can of peaches. He asked half jokingly, if he could get some Georgia Peaches when he made the tour stop in Atlanta. I brought him a can. It turns out, the peaches where actually shipped from CA to begin with. ---
