Etta James was an easy [2012 celebrity death](http://www.ranker.com/list/celebrity-deaths-2012-famous-deaths-list/famous-celebrity-deaths-list) to predict IMO. Too easy. Same as Chavez, Gibb and many others. Who had her? ---

Well, all six folks who shared the Opening Kickoff Award also picked Etta James. So first place hasnā€™t changed. Sixty-four other players picked her, which means thereā€™s a really big tie for second place. You know who you are. Like amarone did, shortly after the end of each month Iā€™ll post current standings in detail. ---

Woo hoo! šŸ™‚ IIRC, there were quite a few news stories at the end of last year about Etta Jamesā€™s declining health. On the other hand, there were stories about Aretha Franklinā€™s pancreatic cancer at the end of 2010, and look where that got us. And Zsa Zsa looked like a sure thing back then, too.
