[Dory Previn](http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-dory-previn-20120216,0,1067117,full.story), who was nominated for two songwriting Academy Awards while collaborating with then-husband Andre Previn, has died at the age of 86. As their marriage fell apart, the Previns worked on the soundtrack for _Valley of the Dolls_. Dory later received a third Oscar nomination for co-writing “Come Saturday Morning” for the film _The Sterile Cuckoo_. ---
