One of the great thinkers to come out of WW2, [Paul Fussell](http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/chicagotribune/obituary.aspx?n=paul-fussell&pid=157767758) dead at 88. He took on tough subjects and made them enjoyable, a rare talent indeed. ---
