One year I had eighteen points, for two picks who were both ninety-one when they died. They were Adm. James Stockdale and voice actor Thurl Ravenscroft. If you have heard Tony the Tiger, or the song “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”, you have heard Ravenscroft. ---

These folks are sitting ducks. ---

My 5 year old has refreshed my memory of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and I was probably able to identify Tony the Tiger (“They’re Grrrrreat!”) when I was 5, which was one hell of a long time ago. And “Thurl Ravenscroft” has to be one of the coolest names ever. ---

[Gary David Goldberg](http://www.randomhouse.com/wotd/index.pperl?date=20001207), who produced the TV series _Family Ties_ and _Spin City_, has died at the age of 68. Besides those Michael J. Fox vehicles, Goldberg’s contributions include the underappreciated _Brooklyn Bridge_, which lasted only two seasons.
