There are cases of people on my lists that are there because I would like to read their obituaries, or because I don’t want to read their obits. Clancy was a favorite author of mine for quite a while, so he in the ‘don’t want to read’ camp. No other reason, except maybe for the desire of a unique pick. There were some vague rumors of heart issues and he was a smoker, but I didn’t find that out until a couple of years ago. ---

Yes, no points, but counts towards the Quantity award. I have one like that myself, Douglas Slocombe, who turned 100 in February. Another will turn 100 before the end of the year. ---
