Not found on any Harry Connick, Jr. Christmas album (AFAIK): the instrumental version of “Winter Wonderland” off the _When Harry Met Sally_ soundtrack. ---

I forgot to mention it last night but I’d also recommend Dropkick Murpheys’ “[The Season’s Upon Us](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTx-sdR6Yzk)”. Again, not all that cheery, but definitely good and definitely a Christmas song. ---

The music that really transports me back to being 5 years old and sitting in front of the fire is my grandfather’s Hungarian carols. My two favorites are [“Mennyből az angyal”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2ZU8u87C3M) and [“Pásztorok, pásztorok”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIRbzKByaCM). I still remember swearing that when I grew up, I’d sing in one of those children’s choirs. 😉 ---

I don’t remember how I found this album, but I love the instrumental [Festival of the Heart](http://www.amazon.com/Festival-Heart-BOSWELL-JOHN/dp/B000000X61/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449566461&sr=8-1&keywords=festival+of+the+heart) particularly the arrangements of “What Child is This?” and “O Come O Come Emmanuel”. Many times productions go too big, but these have a simpler, haunting style to them. One of my favorite Christmas traditions is to curl up with some hot chocolate, turn off all the lights except the Christmas tree, and listen to this album. ---
