I’ve also never seen a four-legged cicada, but it’s still cool even if not anatomically accurate.
So far, it hasn’t been as bad as I thought that it might be. I live in south Nashville. The noise is bad, but they haven’t been swarming like they do sometimes.
We drove to KC from Indianapolis last week for Memorial Day. Once we hit St. Louis, we hit the cicadas. Or rather, they hit us - the car just got pelted by dozen after dozen after dozen of those big dumb doofus bugs. The brood there didn’t seem to have specimens as large as the ones we got here in 2021, but we could hear them from the highway.
