Ypsilanti, Michigan
Ipswich, UK
Never knew Ypsilanti was all that famous.
Hong Kong, China
Glendale, California
I can’t say how famous Ypsilanti is, but it is almost as bad as Detroit, last I heard.
It’s not horrible… It almost even has a degree of charm to it. There was a pretty good pizza place in the now-gentrified Depot Town area last time I visited. Don’t think I’d want to live there, though.
That said, I’d have probably never known the city even existed if my father hadn’t worked for their (now defunct) newspaper.
I’m going to toss in Ebetsu, Japan again, maybe it’ll stick this time.
Totally not world famous, but I’m using it anyway.
Ulan Bator, Mongolia
Ypsilanti is kind of like Youngstown. Stray too far off campus, and you will be in a pretty bad area. One of my friends just interviewed at Eastern Michigan University for her graduate work. She said it was nowhere near as bad as Youngstown.
Already said on page 1.
Ulm, Germany
Mangalore, India
Midori, Japan
Cancle that.
Erie, Pennsylvania
Cancle Erie, too.
El Monte, California
Erbil, Iraq
Lexington, Kentucky
N’Djamena, Chad
Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
I’ve never been to Youngstown (that I can recall, at least), but I have never really had a desire to go, either.
Midori is a famous city or has a population above 100,000? The only city named Midori I know is in Gunma and comes pretty shy of 100k people.
I guess it doesn’t matter anyway… But I’m curious if there is another Midori-shi.
Omaha, Nebraska
Algiers, Algeria
Samarkand, Uzbekistan
I’ve lived near Youngstown my whole life. As for Midori, I have no idea of the population. I just liked the name of the city and was glad I was able to use it.
Durham, North Carolina
Fair enough.
Miami, Fla.
Irving, Texas
