How can we have this discussion when [there is no such thing as the color pink](http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2011/10/theres-no-such-thing-as-the-colour-pink/). Minus green folks, minus green. ---

Salmon coloured bermuda shorts are an atrocity, no matter who wears them. It’s not just the colour that makes an article of clothing ok…it’s the article itself, too! ---

I’m wearing pink right now. It’s not gay to wear pink. I’m not sure why you think it’s gay to wear women’s clothing. BTW, you may find [one of Cecil’s old columns](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2831/was-pink-originally-the-color-for-boys-and-blue-for-girls) interesting. According to his research, the “pink is for girls” thought may only date back to WWII or thereabouts. ---

My girlfriend _only_ wants me to wear pink, where I am more comfortable in blues, greys and blacks. She keeps buying me pink clothing, including a pink polo shirt and the latest offering being pink CK briefs this Christmas. This all stems from her roommate asking her in earnest why she was interested in a gay guy - something the roomie had assumed because I used to live in a salmon pink house. So yeah, ignorant parts of society make ignorant assumptions. ---

I’m gay, and I’m not particularly fond of pink. I do have one pink dress shirt and some socks (I have socks in all sorts of colors), but in general I could do without pink entirely, and never miss it. ---

Having met various very diverse individuals and groups on a daily basis I am beginning to conclude there is no ‘normal’, just people whose interests and tastes may or may not overlap those of others. And I am now at the point of believing that people who feel the need to denigrate or discriminate on the basis of most anything are the cause of most of the pain and irritation in this world. Today I saw an individual outside the Charlottesville,VA Circuit Court where I am covering a trial. I could not conclude if this person was transgender, a crossdresser, or what, but I was damn sure it was none of my business what this person needed to do to be happy in this world. Had I the time I wish I had struck up a conversation, as this person was probably very interesting, and by my observation, very brave to appear in public. I make this observation for the person in question was dressed ‘artfully’ to best describe it. In short, pink is fine. Personally I have no taste in clothes and try to stick to the basics.
